Festivals Holiday in Thailand
Get Festive

Currently being updated for 2008
Enjoying festivals abroad can be difficult when you don't know the best places to go or what to do when you get there. On this special festive holiday, our unique network of local contacts will guarantee you get the best out of four fantastic festivals happening in Thailand this November. From candle lit rivers to elephant Olympics, this two-week private tour will let you to see it all.

Your festival fever starts in Chiang Mai where you can celebrate Loy Krathong with the unforgettable sight of candle-lit balloons rising into the warm night sky and beautiful lotus-shaped floats drifting down river. Why not learn how to make the best float from a local expert and launch your own for good luck?

November also marks the opening of the Royal Flora show, a vast horticultural expo with over 2.5 million plants and flowers as well as beautiful show gardens from around the world. Built to celebrate the King of Thailand's 60th year on the throne, you'll be one of the first in after him and by visiting with local garden enthusiasts you'll get so much more out of the event.

Then it's time for some history with a spectacular sound and light show at the ancient Khmer temple complex of Phimai which predates Angkor Wat. It is well away from the usual tourist trail but there's no chance of getting lost as you'll be going with local fans.

Last but by no means least, the Surin Elephant Round-up is worthy of a trip to Thailand on its own. Over 250 elephants gather from all over Thailand to take part in their equivalent of the Olympics and we will make sure you get the best spot to watch this incredible event. You can also walk around to get up close and personal to these magnificent creatures.

Other highlights of this action-packed itinerary include:
  • guided trekking in a UNESCO wildlife-protected national park
  • swimming in spectacular tropical jungle waterfalls
  • wandering through forests in the misty hills where coffee is grown in the wild
  • picking the freshest organic ingredients and cooking delicious Thai dishes

Departs 4th to 19th November 2006, subject to strictly limted availability.
