best November to April
Whilst Phuket is not a destination we'd usually include, and this hotel is much bigger than we would usually use on Tell Tale trips, even for a beach extension, it can act as a good end to a holiday. If you just want to top up with few days of just sun and sea, and some traditional luxury to boot, we like
Cape Panwa as it is in a secluded part of Phuket with a beautiful sandy beaches and unusually for Thailand, you can go snorkelling straight from the shore. So on occasion, just what the doctor ordered. It will be a real contrast from your Tell Tale trip too!
Located on the pristine Natai beach, the
Aleenta Phuket Resort & Spa offers the chance to escape the world and truly unwind. All of the suites and villas have a sleek contemporary design and are of a generous size, some with private pools.
The main infinity pool overlooks the golden sands of Natai beach, so you will be spoilt for choice as to where to spend your days. There'll be time to pamper yourself in the luxury spa and have drinks in the beachfront bar. There are two restaurants here,
The EDGE offers breakfast (included) along with lunch and dinner while
Natai opens for dinner.
North of Phuket island in Phang Nga province, it feels like a world away from the busy resorts on Phuket's main beaches, yet the Aleenta offers plenty of complimentary activities to those who want them. Both adults and children are well catered for. From yoga to Muay Thai boxing and plenty of complimentary watersports, you certainly won't be bored here. For younger guests, there is a separate kids pool and a range of daily gadget-free activities on offer.
Nextdoor to sister hotel the Aleenta, you'll find the equally heavenly
Akyra Beach Club.
Here you are treated to a relaxed beach club vibe, dedicated friendly staff and a location where you are never more than a few minutes from the stunning shoreline. With fewer than 60 rooms/villas, this peaceful resort is a more affordable option on the seemingly endless Natai Beach.
Cool off in the central circular pool, wander through the tropical gardens or, if you are feeling more energetic, you are spoilt for choice. There's a fully equipped gym and exercise classes or you can borrow a bicycle from the hotel to explore the local area. Cycle tours are also offered along with weekly excursions. Guests are equally welcome to use the facilities at the Aleenta if you want a change of scenery.
The
Club Akyra restaurant offers all-day dining as well as themed dinners and a weekly barbecue on the beach.
