Hot off the press from Tell Tale Travel..special news so hot we couldn't wait till the next edition of Tittle-Tattle*
After several requests from solo travellers, we've put together two special itineraries for those who want to travel with a small group. They're also suitable for couples who want to travel with other people.
Clearly, we can't offer the same level of intimate and personal local experiences as we do on a typical Tell Tale holiday, but we've put a lot of effort into making these itineraries very special indeed.
If a group holiday isn't for you, please do still read on as if you think any of your friends will be interested, there's an easy way to tell them about it at the end. We promise that Tittle-Tattle will be back soon with its usual blend of news, tips, private tours and chit chat!

Thai Cooking
Kick off with a core skills lesson before feasting and chopping your way around Thailand for two weeks. You'll learn how to make central Thai, Lanna (northern Thai) and spicy-Southern food. Highlights include visiting local markets and picking your own at an organic farm before cooking up your ingredients. Due to numbers, most lessons will be mainly in 'professional' cooking schools, but where feasible you will visit real Thai kitchens for truly authentic fare. Plenty of sightseeing, wellbeing and relaxing along the way. This holiday is suitable for novices or experts.
Departing UK June or July |

Elephants
Spend days and nights getting up close and personal to elephants feeding, bathing and caring for them at two different centres with different approaches to elephant conservation (obviously, neither is a tourist riding camp). In between, you will explore a vast wildlife reserve which is home to some of the last remaining wild elephants in Thailand and experience the once-a-year Surin festival where elephants come from all over the country to have their place in Thai history and culture celebrated. The holiday's not all go, you'll also discover the culture, food and laze in tropical gardens.
Departing UK 13 November | |
There will be no single supplements but unlike other tour operators, this isn't on the condition you share a room with a stranger throughout your holiday. Everyone will have their own room whenever feasible (all nights except one on the cooking holiday but less on the elephant holiday).
As these are group holidays, we feel they need to be escorted. Don't worry, unlike many other operators, we won't just allocate someone from Bangkok to be your 'tour leader' and guide throughout your holiday. We want you to discover each area through the real experts, so you will meet lots of different guides and 'ordinary' people in each area in Thailand. This will also benefit local economies more. Your 'escort' will just be there to make sure everything runs smoothly for a group of different people.
We are still finalising the itineraries, so please register your interest today to make sure these holidays happen!
We're still working on pricing, and it will depend on numbers, but a rough ballpark for now is £1,500-1,900 per person (inclusive of direct flights from the UK on a scheduled airline).
*Thank you for reading this special message and we promise the next 'proper' edition of Tittle-Tattle will be out soon!
